2019 will mark the 87th year of the PRCA Big Sky Pro Rodeo. The first rodeo was in 1931 with the first North Montana Fair, later named the Montana State Fair. The rodeo has only been cancelled once in all its years during the First World War.
The Big Sky Pro Rodeo Committee strives to provide our fans and Pro Rodeo Contestants with an unsurpassed quality of Pro Rodeo entertainment within the state of Montana. We accomplish this by infiltrating a theme and activities to go along with each night to get the audience and contestants involved in the rodeo. In addition, we do your best to listen to our fans and contestant and try to improve the grounds and setup to accommodate requests.
Wednesday prior to the PRCA rodeo, we will host a Military Appreciation Dinner to honor our nation’s military members, retired, veterans and their families with a free Military Appreciation Dinner. Thursday morning, the Rodeo Committee, along with Eagle Mount Great Falls and Special Olympics Montana, will host its 6th annual Exceptional Rodeo. Friday, afternoon, Cowgirl U saddles up to raise money and awareness of the courageous members of our community that are involved in the battle with breast cancer. We close out the rodeo and fair with the Big Sky Roundup Ranch Rodeo, Saturday morning.
We’d like to bestow a special thanks to all of the remarkable volunteers that help put on this excellent rodeo and supplementary events! This rodeo wouldn’t be what it is without this incredible group of people who work hard for their community and for the love of the sport.
The committee works alongside the staff at Montana ExpoPark, and Wrangler National Finals stock contractor Ike Sankey, of Sankey Pro Rodeo. The contributions from these three groups form a great working relationship, which continually produces one of the best rodeos in Montana.
Thank you to all of our great sponsors who have recognized this award winning combination to make this rodeo possible.
