CONTESTANTS HOSPITALITY

The Big Sky Pro Rodeo Committee recognizes the dedication and long hours on the road that rodeo contestants put in.  Unlike most other professional sports where contestants are paid salaries regardless of how well they do at a particular competition, cowboys generally pay to enter each rodeo.  If they place high enough to win money, they probably make a profit, but if they don’t, they’ve lost their entry fee and any travel expenses, so every entry is a gamble pitting the chance for loss and physical injury against the chance for financial windfall and athletic glory.    There are some cowboys and cowgirls who compete in professional rodeo for a living, crisscrossing the country with their own horses or equipment, and there are also those who work at other jobs during the week and compete in rodeos only on the weekends.

Contestants at the Big Sky Pro Rodeo enjoy the following:

  • Contestants meals – for contestants and their family – each night prior to the rodeo.
  • Pancake breakfast during rodeo slack on Thursday and Friday mornings, 8-10am.
  • FREE Haircuts Thursday and Friday morning during rodeo slack.
  • Sports Medicine on hand during the rodeo.

The Big Sky Pro Rodeo would like to thank our generous Contestant Hospitality Sponsors!
